The Danish division ACURE operates as IBM Competence Center for healthcare IT in Denmark. ACURE has launched several “Smarter Healthcare” solutions addressing key challenges facing the health sector by using Business Intelligence as a tool to effectively utilize health data. One example of this pioneering approach is DiaLog Shared Care, which securely integrates patients’ diabetes data into existing Lab Systems, Hospital Information Systems and Electronic Health Records, giving everyone, including the patient, access to the same, updated information. More than 90% of the diabetes patients indicate that DiaLog enables them to better follow the development in their diabetes, intervene and exercise self-care. 70-80% of the health care professionals say that direct patient access means more problem-oriented interviews, and higher patient satisfaction.

For 50% of all the homecare patients in Denmark, Rambøll CARE is the backbone of their rehabilitation process. The health and homecare system ensures quality management, flexible workflows and systematized recordkeeping providing the health care sector with a cost-efficient homecare platform.
In close collaboration with Aalborg University in Denmark, Rambøll has developed TELEKAT, an experimental project for citizens with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). At home, patients measure blood pressure, weight, pulse rate and oxygen saturation, which are sent in real time to the hospital daily. Project results indicate that TELEKAT has substantially reduced re-admissions while patients in the program report a higher quality of living and are less likely to see their condition worsen.
Rambøll CARE builds on 25 years of experience adapting homecare systems to the changing needs of care teams and patients. All systems are continuously developed with health care scientists, care teams, consultants and system developers.

DELTA has developed a revolutionary ultra-low-power wireless platform for medical monitoring applications. The ePatch platform is designed to fit customized sensors on the patient’s skin to autonomously monitor a range of physiological parameters such as ECG, GSR, skin temperature, pulse, and blood saturation. The data are transmitted wirelessly in real-time through an intelligent component filtering only pre-programmed relevant data to clinical personnel, saving the physicians’ time and simultaneously optimizing diagnosis. With a low profile of a few millimeters, the innovative technology inside ePatch makes wireless sensing truly viable in a large range of healthcare applications; it is bio-compatible, withstands showering and other daily activities and has a flexible radio protocol supporting data logging, periodic download, and alarms. The ePatch enables chronically ill patients to lead normal, even productive daily lives as opposed to continuous and costly hospital visits.
Cetrea’s Pervasive Healthcare is an unparalleled solution to efficiently address the ever mounting pressure on ER and OR. Through a unique combination of multimedia touch terminals, video, chat, tracking and mobile units, the real time clinical logistics are easily managed by the entire staff reducing the time clinicians spend coordinating and communicating by nearly 40%. At the same time, the patient throughput in the OR is increased by up to 7%. A less tangible effect are significant reductions in clinician stress and an increased satisfaction with the working environment as interruptions are drastically reduced while an overview of the entire workflow is accessible from anywhere. Products with this technology are Cetrea Surgical, Cetrea Emergency and Cetrea Patient Ward.
